Ed and Troy Germano's Hit Factory bought Criteria in January 1999, rebuilt all five rooms and added Studio F, and reopened in March 2000 as The Hit Factory Criteria Miami. Timbaland, Scott Storch and Rodney Jerkins made Jay-Z, Chris Brown, Nelly Furtado and Michael Jackson tracks here; Shakira and Mana recorded here; by 2008 the complex had an SSL Duality and a general manager, studio manager and chief technician on staff.
