Jerry Wexler, Tom Dowd and Arif Mardin brought Atlantic's sessions to Criteria from about 1969, hired the Memphis players known as the Dixie Flyers as a Miami house band, and cut Aretha Franklin, Brook Benton, Derek and the Dominos, the Allman Brothers and Average White Band here. Howard Albert's explanation for the move: it was all because of fishing.
