The engineer who gave the Atlantic era its sound: Idlewild South, Layla, Eat a Peach, 461 Ocean Boulevard and Young, Gifted and Black were all made with him at Criteria, and he helped Jeep Harned refine the MCI consoles that grew out of the studio. He mentored the Albert brothers, Karl Richardson and Chuck Kirkpatrick.
